DCK Boardshorts is committed to building a more sustainable planet. We have taken significant steps to incorporate sustainability into our practices and offer environmentally conscious options through our sustainable collections.
Our sustainable collections prioritize the use of recycled materials. Over 70% of the materials we use are made from Recycled Plastic.
By repurposing plastic waste, we contribute to reducing landfill and ocean pollution, while also minimizing the demand for virgin resources.
We utilize innovative materials like biodegradable polyester, made possible with CiCLO® Technology. This ensures that our products have a reduced environmental impact and can naturally break down over time, promoting a circular approach to fashion.
Furthermore, we have embraced the use of Hemp 🪴 in our production process. Hemp requires significantly less water compared to cotton, making it a more sustainable choice. By incorporating hemp into our collections, we aim to reduce water consumption while still delivering high-quality products.
Through ongoing R&D, we strive to continuously improve our sustainable practices and inspire positive change. Our goal is to lead by example, encouraging our customers to make conscious choices that contribute to a healthier planet.

More about CiCLO® TECHNOLOGY
DCK was the pioneer company in Europe producing with CiCLO® Technology fibers.
CiCLO® technology enables polyester and nylon to biodegrade at greatly accelerated rates in wastewater sludge, soil, landfill, and seawater. 🧶
The goal is to make the greatest possible impact on microplastic pollution caused by synthetic textiles.
▶️ Polyester and nylon are used widely for their affordability, accessibility, durability, and utility. However, they are plastics and their durability benefit is also a weakness. Almost all fabrics shed during manufacture, use, and care, and microfibers from polyester and nylon can remain indefinitely in the environment (unless they are manufactured with CiCLO® technology!).
▶️ When added to virgin or recycled polyester and nylon, CiCLO® technology allows any fibers that end up fugitive in the environment to behave like natural fibers such as wool. When exposed to moisture and microorganisms over time, CiCLO® polyester and nylon can biodegrade, leaving behind only basic natural elements.
▶️ CiCLO® technology is patented, extensively tested using internationally recognized ASTM and ISO Test Methods, and does not compromise durability or performance characteristics. We partner with brands all around the world that use CiCLO® polyester and nylon in their products as a drop-in replacement to conventional synthetics.
